Hoba Hoba!

Do you remember what today is? It's actually a public holiday in Brunei. It's the Royal Brunei Armed Forces 47th Anniversary. Here's a little bit of history for you. The RBAF was originally known as Askar Melayu Brunei since its formation in 1961. The royal title was given in 1965, hence the name Askar Melayu Diraja Brunei was given. It was only in 1984 that the Askar Melayu Diraja Brunei was renamed as Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei. This year's theme is "Memperkasa Tunas Bangsa Memperkukuh Pertahanan Negara" (Empowering the Youth to Strengthen National Defence). Untuk yg dibrunei hari ani, siuk eh, 3 hari cuti tarus.

Aku kan ikut public holiday pun nda dapat.. haha.. There wasn't any interesting stuff that happened today. Spent most of the day bekurung dalam bilik, studying..sedih bunyinya haha..

Colour pencils anyone?

I managed to get some studying done this afternoon. Syimsyim and Nabnab came over tonight and we ordered Dominos pizza, since sorang2 tais liur kan makan, hehe. We ordered the vegerama, margarita and another cheese pizza with extra mushroom.. Alaiii.. Murah pizza di sini ani kalau dicompare kan dengan dibrunei. Sebuting pizza dibrunei, bulih jadi 2 or 3 buting di sini. Yunyun also made chicken and corn soup which was delicious as well. The pizza delivery guy nya atu, ok lah, we were hoping to get yg lagi hensem, haha.. Oh well..

And the rain keeps pouring on and on...

What a cold day it is! It rained all day yesterday and it rained again all morning today.. Sukurtah hujan atu ah, tapi sajuk! Brrrr.. I figured that since I like to talk about the weather so much, baik tah ku masukkan weather box in my blog, nda ja? :p If you have noticed that, ada tu, ku add in the time and a comic strip as well at the bottom of my page.. macam nada kraja kan aku atu, ish ish ish.. hehehe.. Angan-angan kan ku add in calender jua, liat lah kalo rajin, hehe..

Anyway, what did I do yesterday? Let me recap.. Yesterday as I mentioned before, pun sajuk jua.. I guess it's approaching winter udah masa ani, or winter kah ni udah? hehe.. This cold weather really makes a girl sleepy and lazy, haha.. I woke up at around 8:30am yesterday. Had a quick shower and brekky, then Yunyun and I were on our way to uni.

I had an EBM tutorial at 10am, which lasted for less than 2 hours. It involved lots of calculations of studies conducted, etc etc.. Bagi paning, haha.. Then at 12pm, I had the usual P.B.L session. This will be the last P.B.L for this semester before the upcoming exams. In fact, yesterday was actually the last class/P.B.L session for this semester! yeehaa! Now, the remaining time we have left would be for revision and exam. The P.B.L ended at 1:40pm. There were no classes after that, so I decided to go to Coles Hawken, armed with my umbrella in the rain, to get a bottle of coke and some snacks.. hahaha, bekarih wah. Suka ku singgah ke sana atu eh, hehe..

Went back home, then fried some fish nuggets and chips since I was feeling hungry by that time. I tried, I mean really tried to study that afternoon, tapi sikit saja ku belurih.. Aigoo.. Lain plang ku buat nah.. main puzzles! :p

I used to love playing these types of puzzles when I was younger. I found this puzzle book while I was cleaning my room a few days ago. The last entry that I made was actually in 2005.. and now, 3 years later.. main tah ku lagi! haha.. I missed playing ani. I remembered bringing the book when I just arrived in Brissy in 2006, since jarang udah ku main masa sibuk2 di UBD dulu.

Kan lain tah ku buat.. sepatutnya belajar! Hahaha.. Ada c Yunyun menyubuk my room, pikirnya tah ku belajar, sekalinya double take ia tarus, ketawakan nya ada pulang, hahaha.. busted! :p

Then, tried reading lagi.. hopeless wah aku yesterday atu, hehe.. instead, I tried to usai2 my blog. At night, we had dinner of lauk salai, ramis and chicken nuggets. Hujann lagi.. At 9pm, kami mengayau ke rumah c Syimsyim and Nabnab. We watched a P. Ramlee movie, Seniman Bujang Lapok. At the same time, I read some Ethics stuff, ntah masuk kah nda tu, haha.. We had a sleep over di sana, and slept pretty late last night. I think I was the first to fall asleep, atu pun sudah pukul 1 pagi.

Woke up at 9am today. It was freezing! Beselimut and bestukin udah tu.. Syimsyim and Nabnab then cooked Brunch for us, of mee goreng, cucur udang and popia. Nyaman! Thanx guys! :) Jangan jaraa... haha

By noon, Yunyun and I went back home.. I had a shower then got bundled up in my dad's extra large long sleeved tshirt.. haha, nda ia memakai, jadi bagi nya tah ku. Nya pakai masa winter since tabal, hehehe.. Nah, ani blogging tah ku pulang.. Better stop now, kan belajar ku dulu! :p

Me, Myself and I

Woke up at 9am today, but instead of studying, I ended up lounging in bed, hehe. Nyaman rasanya bah, it was really cold today.. When I looked out my bedroom window, the day was gloomy and mendung macam kan hujan usulnya. I managed to revise my CC handbook for later, then had a shower and had the leftovers from last night's dinner for brunch. I decided to just go on my own today to the hospital, instead of joining Alx and Aln. Ingin jua ku kan merasai naik bus dari the new inner busway at the King George bus station at city.

So I got into the 412 bus to city, close to 12pm, atu pun ahir sampai bus nya atu.. Reached city at 12:15pm, then went to the new King George bus station.. underground yoo, macam yang arah Queen St mall. It is BIG and nampak bau cina nya, hehehe.. I managed to make my way to the right stop since banyak stops dibawah atu. There weren't many people with me, waiting for the 333 bus to arrive. I had a look around and thumbs up, lawa lah jua the place atu. I forgot to bring my camera along, (ceh!) so no pics taken.. hehehe..

I arrived at the hospital 20 minutes early, so I went to wait dulu at the coaching rooms, before going to the extended care unit for our clinical ward visit today. We had a substitute tutor, a 3rd or 4th year kah tu, since our tutor was on leave. He was really good as well. We met this really nice and cooperative patient, with an interesting case. The tutor, Mr R, asked if anyone wants to volunteer to do the history taking and cardiovascular physical examination. No one bunyi2, skalinya, suruhnya tia c Alx to do the history taking, and me, to do the physical exam. Aduii, what luck, hahaha.. As long as I do not make a fool of myself in front of them, ok lah haha, baik jua udah ku revise my handbook earlier. So, we proceeded on the history taking dulu. The patient was very good and pandai beibun lagitu, hehe but we have to speak louder to her since ia nda berapa kedangaran. We continued with the physical exam, and baik jua tutornya ani ada bagi guidance jua and bagi extra tips on some of the procedures, and at the same time asking us some questions jua. In the end, we discussed our findings and the tutor commented that I appear to be confident tadi performing the physical exam (kambang kampis tarus hidung, hahaha), sukur lah, hehehe..

We ended the coaching early, then made our way back. I made a pit stop at the medical bookshop since I wanted to check out the sphygmomanometer di sana and ended up buying one, hehe.. Andang ku angan2 kan membali, iatah menyampaikan hajat tah tadi atu. I bought the purple one, and tarus jua I bought a purple digital thermometer tarus. Ada warna merah, but mcm cawiee usulnya, nda tah ku jadi bali warna atu. Dpt tah ku siuk belatih mencek blood pressure my parents and sister ku ni, hehehe..

After arah bookshop, I went to wait for the bus back to city. It was still cold that time. Sunyi lagitu arah bus stop tadi atu. Arrived at city, then jalan2 ku skajap, to buy some groceries and some stuff for brunei. At 4:30pm, I went back home. Yunyun and I then went to buy dinner, c Yunyun at nandos, while I went to Miss India to buy butter chicken and rice. Udah jua di malam makan butter milk chicken, ani tais liur lagi, hehe, gerenti makin "sihat" ni balik ke brunei, haha..

After dinner, gigitan jua ku meliat all my bought stuff ampai2 at the bottom of my closet, so besemangat tah ku tarus packing dlm luggage, haha.. which reminds me that I'll be back in brunei next week! Weeee! Jgn tah exam bahh, balik saja taruss.. sighhh, wishful thinking saja.. hehehe..

Oldies

We were taking a break from studying, so we watched Pendekar Bujang Lapok tonight, skalinya rindu kan meliat cerita melayu. This has got to be one of my favourite old P. Ramlee's movie. The characters were lovable and funny to boot, hahaha.. As you know, this movie is about these 3 characters, Ramlee, Sudin and Aziz, who were determined to learn silat from Pendekar Mustar, in the process, having all these funny incidents and pitfalls, especially in trying to win the heart of the pendekar's daughter, Ros, who was a teacher. Of course, there's the bad guy who was also smitten with Ros and in the end, kidnapped Ros when his offer of marriage was refused. It was then up to the newly trained Ramlee, Sudin and Aziz to rescue the damsel in distress, hehehe..

This... Is Big Sister

Here's another weekend. Wah, before you know it, the days seem to pass you by in just a blink of an eye. Yesterday, I woke up quite early with the intention of studying but that did not turn out as productive as I wanted it to be, since penyakit "M" dtg menyerang lagi, haha.. "M" being Malas, bukan yg lain tu ah, jauuhh paliss... hehehe.. Just managed to get some studying done, jaditah, hehe. In the afternoon, Yunyun and I went to the city for a bit of shopping. We didn't stay long in the city then went back home by 4pm, to cook an early dinner and prepare some popia and cookies for a function later on.

At 7pm, Yunyun and I walked to the Musollah at UQ for the Hajat prayers for the coming exams. We wore our "gamis", rindu kan pakai since we don't really have the right occasion to selalu pakai the black dress. On the way to the Musollah, we met Syimsyim and Nabnab, then we walked together to our destination. There were quite a number of Bruneians in attendance, more than usual. After Yasin and Hajat prayers, we had "jamuan" with the girls in the smaller room and the guys at the main praying room. The function ended by 8:20pm. Since most of us still have our bus tickets, we decided to just wait for the 8:30pm bus at uni. Yunyun and I went home for a while before proceeding to Syimsyim and Nabnab's place with Rhmat, Sa'dy, Fathmee and Hazzie, for Nabnab's birthday.

Some of us played Uno and we watched a Chinese movie as well. We stayed there until 11:30pm, then headed back home.

Today, I woke up at 8am, quite a record for a Sunday, haha.. Nothing much happened today. Spent most of the day studying, betapa dalam gua di bilik, hahaha.. I did my laundry as well. My mom called me today. Besemangat tarus belajar, hehe.. Spent a good 15 minutes on the phone. My uncle was also actually visiting di rumah, so I got to speak to him as well. It's good to hear that everyone's doing well di brunei. At 4pm, Yunyun and I went to Coles at Hawken to buy some groceries. We had buttermilk chicken and veggies for dinner. I was actually planning on continuing studying tonight but tv bebuka, and ada tia Big Brother playing, so I couldn't resist, haha..
I don't really know what is the big attraction in this show, but the concept of the show is quite interesting. You get to watch the dramas unfold and all the interactions of a bunch of strangers that have been put together in a house where there are no communications with the outside world (no tvs, radios, internet) and the only source of entertainment that you could get is just by creating them yourselves. Kira pandai2 tah menghibur diri sendiri tu, hehe. Udah atu, you have to follow the instructions from a booming voice who would show his presence (suara saja, nada muka) whenever he feels like it. He usually begins with "This... Is Big Brother..".There are live evictions from the house every week as well as live game shows where prizes can be won. Fascinating stuff, really, hahaha.. I would not be able to live cematu. I need my internet and my tv! :p But despite all that, I am hooked! hehe..

Hahaha.. (tarus2 lagitu ketawa :p) for those of you who are not familiar with "Inul", she is actually an Indonesian dangdut singer/performer, who is controversially criticised for her suggestive dancing, apa nya orang... "bootylicious" Ku dangar, kalah beyonce ani wah, lols. Ada ni gambarnya ku masukkan for those yg curious atu, hehehe..

What happened yesterday actually prompt me to tarus2 mention c Inul ani, hehe.. Mind you, I am not a dangdut fan; I can't sing well, and I can't move my booty well, hahaha.. lain tah pulang..

Anyway, let's start on thursday, shall we? There wasn't really much stuff happening on thursday that would prompt me to write. We had P.B.L as usual, and it was Aln's birthday as well, which we celebrated with brownies that Rchelle made. Very delicious..

The good stuff actually happened yesterday. Woke up early and did some studying. There were no classes yesterday (yay!). I went to caicai's to get some potatoes since I was planning on making some beef popia after the success with crab popia that I made yesterday. It turned out well, then I brought some to Syimsyim and Nabnab's place for our afternoon past paper discussion session. Sa'dy and Hazzie were there as well. It did not go as well as we planned, since we didn't even get to finish the whole paper - too distracted and excited for the evening dinner, I guess, hehe.

We went home at 5:15pm to get ready for our BSS farewell dinner. The St. Lucians met at 7pm at Guyatt park and we took the citycat to Southbank. It was really cold last night, around 14 oC. We had our dinner at Mado, this Turkish restaurant. There were quite a number of patrons eating there last night. The atmosphere was really warm and cozy, kinda like the Three Monkeys. Through out dinner, we had a great time catching up and getting to know each other much better. The food was great but the service was somehow slow, lapar orang menunggu eh.. Maybe due to our large group atu jua kali ah.. Ada jua bah, this waitress ani, nda paham2 apa kami order, bari malas lah, malas tah ku kan elaborate more lagi, hehe, refer to Syimsyim's blog saja, hehe.

While we were waiting for food to be served, tarus2 we were tekajut with the loud music blasting from the speakers. I think it was some catchy turkish music. Not far away from where we were, came this lady with this shiny orange outfit, strutting her stuff, belly dancing her way through the crowd.. Asikk! Ha! Iatah nyangku, goyang mcm Inul.. I think she could seriously be in competition for the Queen of goyang title with Inul, hahaha.. First time meliat belly dancing "live".. It was awesome, hehe..

Some patrons even get to dance with her.. We were all contemplating whether she'll be asking one of us to dance with her, haha.. I guess siapa yg mau, baru tah. After the performance, we were served our main dinner. I had the Anatolian chicken for dinner, nyaman! The plate was humongous but I managed to finish my food jua.


Once we were done with our main course, a waitress came over to ask if ada orang birthday kah nda in our group. Nabnab's birthday is today, so kami gtau lah. We were expecting mayb belly dancer atu dtg lagi to dance for c Nabnab, haha, takut palng c nabnab kana suruh menari sama2, haha. That would be fun to video record, lols. But instead, they played a Birthday song through their speakers and the waitress came out with a Baklava topped with a single burning candle! :) It was a great surprise.

Surprise Surprise

Ahhhh.. missed blogging yesterday, skalinya nada mood kan, hehe.. Yesterday, I had practicals till noon. Ada plang microbes prac ptg atu, tapi malas ku masuk, hehe.. I heard that we have to pee in a bottle for analysis and inoculation on agar plates, hahaha, malas tah ku dtg skali mendgr atu. Dulu balik2 peeing in bottles for our hospital checkups, ganjil rasanya. Instead, Syimsyim, Nabnab and I went to Indroo to get our hands on the recently halal KFC. Tais liur kami atu.. Yunyun decided not to join us and we tapaukan saja for her. Nyaman makan kami atu, hehe. Finally, found the sling bag that my sister wants. I've been scouring bnyak shops to find the perfect bag for her. Hope she likes what I got her, hehe.. We went home at around 3pm. We did not cook dinner last night. Spent the night revising, and calling my family in Brunei. It feels good to hear their voices and I feel psyched that in less than 3 weeks, I'll be there in Brunei with them. :)

Today I woke up at 8am. Spent the morning going through my CC handbook and watching videos for my coaching this afternoon. At a quarter to 12, I walked to uni to meet up with Alx and Aln for a lift to the hospital. We arrived early as usual. This week, we practiced physical examinations of the cardiovascular system. That took 2 hours and we finished by 3pm. Alx drove us home. I went home just to freshen up, then walked back to uni for the 4pm tutorial. We covered the renal block and the tute finished in less than 3 hours. That was to be our last tute for this semester, before the upcoming exams. We stayed at the P.B.L room for a bit before heading out.

At 7pm, Yunyun, Syimsyim, Nabnab and I then walked home and went to Bluehouse for a surprise b'day for Hazzie.
