Happy New Year!

Hello everyone! :)

So sorry with the late updates. I have been busy this past week or so. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope you had a good 2010 and wish you will be having an even better year in 2011. I had my first ever bonus from my current job and to commemorate the occasion, I had bought a new smart phone for myself, the HTC Desire as a year end present to myself, heehee.

My sister Mun will be back in Brunei for a 2-week holiday soon end of january after her upcoming exams, and I am excited for her return! Hee! I'll be taking a few days off to spend some time with her and my family. If you noticed, I have not applied for holiday leave in December since I wanted to wait for her return before applying. More posts coming up next! :)

Oh my goodness, it feels like it has been agggggeesssss since I last posted anything hehe. I hope that everyone is well. I guess real life just got in the way, thus the lack of posting here. Well, I'm back and if you noticed, I am again in the process of 'renovating' my blog hehe, which I very much enjoy doing when I find the time to do so.

Let's just start this update with the picture above. That was me with my colleague Rashidah and DJ Anthony. A few weeks ago, 3rd June to be precise, Rashidah, me and another colleague had the chance to talk live with DJ Anthony of Kristal FM to promote a charity carnival that was to be held at the end of that week at the stadium. It was my first experience going live on the radio although I've had the chance to act and record a drama on the radio a few years ago for a Hari Raya program. That was a totally different experience though hehehe, but nerve-wrecking nonetheless. We had a 30-minute spot in the afternoon and it was a fun thing to be a part of heheh.

A Fish Called Uji Rashid

My Uda was telling my family that they came across a fish named after this famous Malaysian singer and actress at Giant. So when we went for a little shopping at Giant yesterday, what do we see? Yes, that's right, a fish called 'Uji Rashid'! That was so cool! Haha. Now, you don't normally see me hanging around the fish section, but I couldn't resist checking this out. I have never heard of this fish being sold here before this. I wonder why they named the fish 'Ikan Uji Rashid'. My guess is that this is due to the fish's huge eyes which is probably comparable to the singer's *shrugs* heehee. Mum bought some to give it a try. Heehee.

Seize the day!

Little Flag Bearer :)

I am now one of those drivers who drives with those little Brunei flag stand attached on their car windshield, hehe. A few nights ago, while dad was buying some food from the Pasar Malam in Gadong, he noticed a lot of flag bearers walking around and attaching the little flags on people's cars. When he walked back to the car, he noticed a little flag with its stand attached to the car's windshield.

So, now I drive with one and it does help me get in the spirit of the upcoming National Day celebration! Heehee.

Trip to Limbang

Last Tuesday, my family and I decided to go on a little trip to Limbang. Since it was already the start of school term in Brunei, we know that the Kuala Lurah border will not be as busy as it would be during the school holidays. So we started our journey at 10am, and went through immigration across the Kuala Lurah border without any long queue and hassle. We journeyed through the long winding road and eventually reached Limbang Town centre at 11:25am. Since it was nearing lunch time, we decided to have our lunch at the Sarimah Curry House which is a famous spot among Bruneians. They have quite a variety of delicious dishes and I just have to order my favourite meal there, Mee Jawa! They make the best Mee Jawa that I have ever tasted, in my opinion, hehe. After our lunch, we went to Limbang Plaza to do some shopping, before heading to Limbang Market and the nearby 'Pasar'. We did not stay very long in Limbang. At 3pm, we drove back home.

Now, this is very random. My sister discovered this 'removing mole set' while we were browsing at the Plaza. I know that moles can be removed through surgery, but I do not know that you can use products to remove them yourselves! This is very exciting ! Not that I need it or anything haha

I am a free woman now! What I meant is that, now I have some time to myself since I am no longer working at the part time job that I told you about. With the end of the programme that I was a part of, came the end of my contract. Hence, the free time at hand. I think I learned a lot, especially when dealing with administration side of things. It was a great experience. Right now, I plan to relax before we go to our family vacation in KL soon early January (wuhoo! ) which I am sooo looking forward to. Shopping time! After the vacation, I may look for other jobs while waiting for any govt jobs again. Oh well. Patience Patience! I took some piccies at my temporary office as shown here.

Another random thing.

I have recently started watching this Indonesian series staring this very very adorable 4 year old kid, famously called Baim. My parents are telling me about a tv series featuring this cute smart kid, so I decided to check it out and is now hooked! I am not a big fan of Indonesian series but this is an exception, hehe. Check out the series, Buku Harian Baim at 6:30pm, SCTV channel, hehe. Look for the tabamest kid in the clip with adorable big eyes and puffy cheeks (the main character) which I really really would like to picik haha!
