The one when we sang all night long

Last night was fun. I hung out with Tiyah, Nazmi and Rahmat at the mall arcade. Tiyah and I, as usual played the timbak-timbak game (heehee) while the guys played basketball and such. After racing cars with the 3 of them (where I believe I won, wuhoo! 2nd place though, hehe), we ended up in the K-box, hahaha. We belted out tunes after tunes, ranging from the pop boy band Backstreet Boys's Everybody to Aerosmith's I Don't Want To Miss A Thing to Peter Pan and Rossa, haha. I believe we sang about 10 songs last night. The good thing about K-box is that no matter how out of tune I sounded, only the people in the box with me will know, hahaha. Awalnya memang malu haha, but then, it feels so good to just let out and sing. In the end, sarut bah suara sorang-sorang hehehe, jadi penyanyi professional ni tarus hahaha. So call me for reservations okay, wahahaha, tekarannggg, menyanyi arah orang kawin pun ku nda mau, hehehehe.

The K-box :P

Wasehhh, the guys asyik menyanyi, hehe :D The space is small, nda muat kan gambar 4 orang hehe

Just let it out Tiyah, just let it all out.. hehehe

~~I don't want to miss a thinggg~~ oooooo... (hahaha)

Choosing songs

So after our karaoke session, we headed to Cheezebox for snacks to replenish our dehydration from all that singing haha. Owh, also, there was an expo at the mall and what do we see? Among the booths set up, there was a booth selling Crocs! They are selling a 2nd pair at a 30% discount when you buy two pairs. I have a pair which I bought back in Brisbane. Now Crocs is coming to Brunei, it seems.. hehe. I don't know how long the expo is being held, so if you guys want to check out the shoes, then better be quick hehe.

Another baking day. Made some peanut butter chocolate cookies a few days ago. :)

Before going into the oven

Baked peanut butter chocolate cookies. The only problem was that it was a bit 'puah' or crumbly, hehe, but still tastes good. :D

Fruity tales: The mango and the watermelon

Now this is something we don't see everyday!

I can't believe that we finally have mangoes growing untouched on our mango trees. I was in my sister's room, looking out at her window the other day when I noticed a large apple mango swinging subtley in the wind. As you may have read in my previous posts, we don't usually get to eat our own grown mangoes since they usually disappear before they can grow fully. This is due to the fact that those mangoes are usually eaten by the monkeys hanging out in the small forest at the back or, or simply due to the fact that they refused to grow.. hmm..

Well, this is all very exciting! haha. How rare is that?! Haha, kesian.. I know, I know, it's funny that I can get excited over something like this. Not that I am a mango lover or anything but I like them just fine, hehe. Well, it is kinda exciting to see quite a few growing rather nicely, left alone, in their branches, after all these years.

I guess the little monkeys have found another play ground perhaps? *grins*

Owhh, all this excitement just reminded me of a story. Well, when I was a kid, probably 10 or so, my cousin and I decided to 'experiment'. We have just eaten a few slices of watermelon, when we came up with an idea. So we chose an unsuspecting flower vase, without my mother's knowledge, to try grow our own watermelon fruit, hehe. We planted the watermelon seeds that we just spat out into the soil in the vase and watered them in the hopes that our little 'experiment' will work. I don't remember how long that we have to wait to see the results. I guess I kinda forgot about the 'experiment' for some time until one day I noticed that a small watermelon fruit has grown from the seeds that we planted a while ago! I was beyond excited haha. When my cousin came to visit again, I told her about the fruit that we managed to grow and by that time, it was already the size of an adult fist. I believed that the flowers on the vase looked in a rather bad shape.. I guess all the nutrients have been sucked by our little fruity 'experiment'! Lols.. So, being kids, we couldn't wait any longer, so we decided to eat our homegrown watermelon! Hahahaha.. That was a funny childhood memory.. *smiling like an idiot now* Thus, our 'experiment' was a success and success has never felt or rather, 'taste' so sweet! :P

Alright, alright, back to the topic here.. hehe

So to mark the 'special' occasion, I took some photos of the said mangoes, hahaha.. :P You never know, they may not be there in the coming few days since I have probably jinxed it by announcing this rather random post here, haha. Oh well. :P

The night when things came to life

Last night, I went out to catch a movie at the cineplex with Val, Husma and YJ. We watched the 7:20pm showing of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. It has witty dialogues, hilarious scenes and some awww moments, which are very enjoyable. Not to forget many historical and famous figures making their appearances. It was also delightful to watch the 'evil' Kahmunrah and his so-called 'helpers' also providing a lot of comic relief, hahaha. I actually find this sequel to be much more entertaining than the first movie. I would definitely want to watch this again on dvd. I really recommend watching this movie for it's comedy. Loved it! Movie rate: 8/10. :)

So after the movie, we decided to have dinner at Cheezebox restaurant. To tell you the truth, this was actually my first time dining there, haha. It's cozy and modern. I tried the Baked Chicken Chop Rice and it was absolutely divine... And owh one more thing, I was a bit sakai to know that they actually have this buzzer or button-like thing that you could press if you want the waiter/waitress to come over to your table. Kinda like in an aeroplane tah plang if you want the steward/stewardess to come to you, haha. Good idea though, hehe.

We finished dinner by 10:30pm. I sent Val home before heading back to my place. Overall, a great evening :D

Batik: ada kain, baju tidur butterfly, baju kemeja, kek..

This afternoon, I decided to try the Kek Batik Vico recipe that mom has. The thing is, dari ariatu sudah ia kan suruh cuba buat but I wasn't in the mood since I have been infected with the Grey's Anatomy marathon fever, hahaha, so most afternoons, meliat tv tah ku pulang nah. But now that season 2 sudah abis ku liat, I decided to bake early this afternoon.

I realise that I miss baking, haha. This was my first time trying the recipe and I learned that it doesn't consume much of your time to make. Only the weird thing was that, you don't even require a mixer to make the cake. All you need is just the stove.. well, according to the recipe that I have anyway, hehe. So does that qualify as 'baking'? Hmmm... Owh and I also noticed that we have to be quick when mixing the ingredients in the cooking pan since they seem to get 'sticky' quite fast and cook rather quickly compared to the 'normal' kek batik. That was what I got. I don't know if I did the baking correctly, haha. But the cake turned out rather nicely and tastes very chocolatey, nyum! :)

Getting the ingredients ready :)

Butter with eggs and nestum in the wok. I used a large wok since I tend to spill stuff, haha :P

The final product which is a sticky, gooey dough

Placing the cake on a baking tray

After putting the cake in the fridge to cool off, we get these... waallaaa!! nyummers! very chocolatey and chewy :D

ABC di Sumbangsih

I love the ABC (air batu campur) yang bejual di Sumbangsih atu. I don't know which stall but my dad yang selalu balikan. This week saja kan setiap hari ku minum ABC hahaha. It is yummier if ice cream is added, but I usually add lagi extra ice cream di rumah haha.. memang sihaaattt buiii... liat saja mukaku makin bulat hahaha :P

Nothing much has happened since my last post. Currently, I'm busying myself with Grey's Anatomy marathon hehehe. Tadi I went out with Mun skajap since I wanted to buy season 3's dvds for my collection. Bought season 2 last week, sudah ku habis liat, haha.
