Apple Crumble

It has been AGES since I have baked anything. So during one of the weekends, I decided to try making apple crumble with custard sauce from scratch. It turned out quite well in the end and made yummier when eaten with vanilla ice cream. Nyum! :P

Bread pudding with cheese

Over the weekend, I tried a new recipe. It has been a while since I have baked anything, hehe. This time I tried to bake bread pudding. The interesting thing about it is that it has cheese in it which pique my interest to try it out. Turns out to be successful hehe, although it was less sweet than what I am used to, although that should be a good thing. :)

Holidays, Work and Pies

Hello readers,

Sorry I've been MIA for the past few days, hehe. I have been super busy with work and I am glad that we will be having a 3-day holiday starting tomorrow. I need my rest! Hehe. Though work has been hectic, I have enjoyed it very much. I am soooooo looking forward to the holiday! I plan to eat lots, and sleep lots, haha.

Anyway, we have been quite lucky these past few weeks since we have had a few public holidays dispersed throughout the month. 23rd February was another day of celebration and to be thankful of. We have reached our 26th National Day, and I think it is not too late to wish every Bruneian a "Happy 26th National Day!".

So during the national day holiday, I decided to bake a Chocolate Pie for the first time. I was craving for something sweet and chocolaty. Watching those food tv shows that I love so much does not help at all, haha. Below are some piccies that I took while in the process of baking the pie.

M&M Cookies

Yesterday I made some M&M cookies for the first time, using a recipe from the net. The cookies came out pretty well. Managed to bake 3 dozen cookies. Here are some piccies! :)

Fun cupcakes! :)

I realised that I have not baked anything for quite sometime. I guess since the Eid celebration, I have been eating a lot of cakes so the craving for cakes is easily satisfied, hehe. But I miss baking and so today, I decided to spend my afternoon making cupcakes which is one of my favourite things to do. Went to Giant to get some ingredients with Mun beforehand. Oh, and I had fun playing with the pipings for the icing on top of the cupcakes. Though the design is a bit ameteurish, but I am satisfied with the result! Haha! It doesn't take much to make me happy, lol. :D Here are some piccies! :)

Two Afternoons of Baking

Ramadhan Days 16 & 17

It's the weekend of public holiday in Brunei due to the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration. Thus in the spirit of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri, we decided to spend the afternoons baking biscuits. Kuih Mor on Sunday and Biskut Cornflakes on Monday hehe. Mom and I made the biscuits with the help of dad as well hehe while my sister is busy studying. Kesian ia stressing about the exams. At least her exams will be done before raya so she can fully enjoy the raya celebrations with us. So here are some piccies! :)

Another baking session

Had a cupcake baking session with my sister the other night, hehe :)

Butter cookies with cherries

I love butter cookies, especially those sold at Mum's Bakery which are my absolute favourite. So this afternoon, I decided to try to bake them myself. Just for fun hehe. I was looking for a piping bag but couldn't find them at Giant, so instead I bought a hard plastic piping pump which I think is easier to use. This was my first time using the piping thingy and I discovered how much fun it is to play with, haha. So I just antam-antam pakai and look at the results! Hehehe.

And these are the results of my amateurish piping! :P I also added cherries on top to complete the look.

Fresh from the oven! :) I was actually a bit disappointed that the dough has flattened a bit and the swirls and design of the cookie was less defined after it was baked but at least you can still see the shape hehe. Maybe next time, I should put in more flour to harden it.. hmm.. any tips? :P

Oh and also, I went to Guardian tadi arah Giant to check if the hand sanitizers are already available since they said weekend ani ada new stock. But unfortunately, they said habis tia lagi and new stock will come sometime next week, so I made bookings tah tarus tadi so they will call me up if ada sudah. Well I hope they will do as promised lah heheh.
