Ekka!

Today is the Ekka public holiday, so Syimsyim, Nabnab, Yunyun, Rahmat, YJ and I went to the Ekka festival at the RNA showgrounds. The four of us girls went to wait for the bus from St.Lucia at 10:30am this morning. There were a lot of Ekka-goers as well waiting for the bus, that eventually when the bus arrived (delayed), it was almost full. We pushed our way through the crowd to get into the bus, but alas, only Syimsyim and Yunyun managed to get in, while Nabnab and I had to step back down from the bus when the driver told us to wait for the next bus. Panuh wah bus atu, sampai orang bediri hampir the bus driver sudah, hehehe. It was quite funny really since we have to separate. So Nabnab and I went to Guyatt park to wait for the citycat instead since the next bus will be arriving in another half an hour. Surprisingly, nda ramai orang menunggu citycat, so we did not have to wait long for it to come. We arrived at city and then met up with YJ and Rahmat and the two girls at the bus stop for Ekka goers. The bus was very efficient, balik-balik datang nya and we did not have to wait long.

We arrived at 12pm at the RNA showgrounds where the Ekka is being held annually. Wah, ramai jelama atu! Baik jua YJ prepurchased kan our tickets dulu online, so we did not have to join the long long queue to buy the entry ticket. The concession ticket this year is $16. Meriah eh the Ekka festival. We first made our way to the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion. Ramai orang! Ada macam2 di sana, banyak stalls menjual nuts, nuggets, wine, chocolates, etc.

Hundreds of stalls and look at the crowd! :)

Fast food! kalau lah halal... Ada plang tampat makanan halal at the International food village.

After that, we made our way to the Shenzhen Pavilion, where most products from China are on sale. We did not get anything di sana, just round2 meliat the products. Then, we walked around the RNA grounds, looking at the funfair and food stalls.

Our final stop was the Showbags Pavilion! This is the most crowded pavilion of all, that we have to navigate our way carefully. Hundreds of showbags were available, ranging from as low as $1 to $50. Macam-macam ada, from cartoon characters to magazines and I bought the Freddo showbag, as well as the Garfield lollipop bag, Casper showbag and the Bubblegum showbag.

There were actually lots more of stuff you can do at the Ekka, such as watching the horse race and the mini circus, which we had done last year, so malas tah kami lagi meliat this year. We left Ekka at 3:30pm, then caught the bus back to city. From city, we went back home to St Lucia by bus and dined in at Nandos for early dinner. Yunyun and I then went to Syimsyim and Nabnab's place and stayed there before heading home at 9:30pm. Overall, the Ekka this year is siuk brabis and I have enjoyed my time di sana tadi, hehe.. I will post up more pictures from Ekka in facebook soon.

Gd night! :)
