Ramadan Day 11

What a day! A rather long one indeed. I had a surface anatomy practical this morning at 10am. We did not stay long though, well, no one really stays too long for these things anyway, hehe. Went to the library instead but I couldn't find any free computers anywhere on the top 3 floors, semua bepakai ani wah, ish ish ish.. so I had to resort to the computers on the ground level. Baik jua ada belurih 1 computer but no free chairs anywhere! It was actually computer yang untuk orang berdiri saja. So there I was, shuffling on my two feet trying to get comfy, standing in front of the monitor for one long hour.. abis darah ku bekumpul kebatis, haha.. Met Pei in the library jua tadi.

At noon, as usual on a Thursday, had my PBL tadi. Baik banar substitute tutor kami atu, suka ku. Ia belanja kami gula-gula and lollies lagi tadi atu, tapi aku nda plang makan since puasa kan. Di hidangkannya arah plates and kami pasing2 tah tu plate atu since meja kami atu L-shape. She was telling us tadi about her experience lah. Excited ia tadi atu kan "show and tell" as she described it, hehe.. Katanya, ia ada kana diagnose with melanoma (skin cancer) and skin infection early this year, skalinya she has to go through surgery for a skin graft (transplantation of skin) untuk belasan jam to prevent spread of infection nya. Di liatkan nya tia kakinya yang bagas be skin graft atu, and awu, ada a section of kakinya atu kana potong which is mostly fats katanya and ada scars tampat jahitannya. Nampak tah musclesnya which is covered by a new skin atu. She was pretty cool about showing it to us.

We finished PBL close to 2pm. Our PBL group has PSW (procedural skills workshop) next at the royal brisbane hospital at 3pm. 3 of my group mates atu kan drive kan kami kesana. We had 30 minutes to kill before kami janji kan bekumpul at 2:30pm, so Mary and I decided to check out the art museum at UQ, which is now featuring arts with the theme "neo goth: back in black". Aku alum tu pernah masuk ke dalam art gallery di sana. It is actually hampir to the library yang ku selalu aga. C Mary pernah udah ke sana 2 kali katanya. To tell you the truth, I don't really know much about art, hehe.. I mean, I can see that some of them lawa, but for the life of me, nda ku tau cemana kan interpret what the painter is actually trying to express through his/her paintings or art work. Lawa-lawa plang some of the paintings and art work nya atu and we had fun trying to interpret the arts. Macam ada this photo ani, of a bride with a bloodied wound on the bodice of her gown, floating on the blue sky. Bila kami liat balik2, rupanya awannya atu tebalik, and we assume that she is falling from the sky. Hahaha, antamm.. Ada tia kaca pacah kana display and we confidently say that we could do that ourselves and be artists on our own right, haha macam banar, haha.. We then headed to the basement of the building. We came into a dark room, surrounded by black walls, with a large sofa in the middle and a huge screen tv playing videos of the different ways that people could die or commit suicide. Sesuai tah dengan temanya gothic and dark atu eh, haha.. A bit disturbing I have to say, but ada jua nda kami paham apa maksudnya.. Oh well, biasa sudah bepikir scientifically and not "artfully" (ada kah word atu?) hehe..

Then we went to the parking area to meet up with the others. Kami ikut kereta c Rchelle. We arrived in the hospital just on time. For the workshop, we learn how to collect blood from the peripheral veins. Siuk workshop tadi atu. After a briefing, each of us were given our own injection kit and we had the chance to practice using dummy hands which contain fake blood. We need to make sure that we inject on the correct vein in order to be able to draw the blood. Rupanya ada 3 cara on how to collect blood ani. Tadi we practised using a "butterfly or scalp vein needle attached to a vacutainer system".

At the end, pandai tah kami cemana kan mengambil darah. Tapi ani baru pakai patung, alum kami practise arah orang. Atu alum tau cemana kah nanti tu, haha.. Pelahan-lahan lah belajar, hehe. We stayed there sampai pukul 4. Then Cass, Mary and I went to catch the bus to city. C Cass tarus balik, while aku sama c Mary singgah skajap ke Coles bali some stuff before we separated and went on our way. I just missed the bus tadi atu so I have to wait for another 30 minutes for the bus to st lucia to come. Sampai rumah at 5pm. We cooked sungkai, me with nasi goreng while Yunyun buat tuna pasta. Malam meliat Make Me a Supermodel and rehat. Ngalih hari ani, but siuk lah jua, hehe..
