Award ceremony: Congrats Mun!

Hello readers! :)

I have some good news to share here. Last Wednesday, 14/10/2009, my sister Mun has been awarded as Pelajar Cemerlang Dalam Sekolah Ugama/Arab (SMALHB) and Pelajar Terbaik Sekolah - Sekolah Ugama/Arab bagi tahun 2008 by Jabatan Pengajian Islam, in a ceremony which was held in ICC. Congratulations Mun! I am very proud of you! :D I hope you will continue to excel in your studies and be able to get into a very good university! :) Now, she is waiting for her STPU exam results (upper sixth form arabic exam). Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the event, which leads me to my second good news hehe. Here are some piccies! :)

Congratulations Mun! :)

So for my second news, well, as you may know, I am done with my first temporary job before Raya. So now, I have a new part time job at UBD, which has started this week. The part time job will be for 10 weeks. I am happy to have another job to keep me busy. So far, it has been going well and I am learning new things as I go along. As in the permanent govt job front, well, I am still waiting for any news and posts. People say the usual job application process is always long and sometimes takes up to a year or so. Patience is a virtue! :)

Let the Weddings begin! :)

Now that Hari Raya is almost over, we have started receiving wedding invitations again. There was a wedding last week that only my parents went to, and another this week which we attended in Dewan Muhibah at Airport Lama. The host is mom's second cousin so I don't really know the bride, who is most likely my third cousin then hehe. Anyway, holding weddings in halls, hotels or ICC are now getting pretty common, providing a large venue and most importantly, air conditioners! Hehe.. You can't argue that these places would make the attendees much more comfortable and are much more willing to wait if there are unfortunate delays and so on. So here are some piccies from the wedding. Congratulations to the bride and groom! :)

Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat, What are they feeding you?!

I absolutely adore the TV show FRIENDS. I've watched the episodes countless of times, hehe. One of my favourite parts of the show would be Phoebe's sometimes inappropriate but HILARIOUS songs, lol. Last night I was just watching some of the episodes and thought that I wanted to post some of the songs here. My most favourite songs would be the Christmas song and the Smelly Cat song. And who could forget the ever hilarious Smelly Cat video clip, lol. Enjoy the trip down memory lane! :P

I can't stop laughing everytime I watch these! Heehee.

Do you believe in ghosts?

Currently, my sister and I are hooked on Ghost Hunters. Initially we managed to catch some of the episodes on Star World but we only tuned in later on in the seasons. Recently we managed to catch the first 2 seasons on DVD and are now currently on the 3rd season. Hehe. To tell you the truth, I am not much of a horror show/movie fan but this reality show is an exception. It does not show the usual horrifying and gruesome movie make ups of the so-called 'ghosts' which can easily scare me (haha). My friends would know that, during our horror movie marathons, I would usually surround myself with pillows and usually peek through a small gap on my hands while watching the horror movies hahaha, which I know can get pretty tiresome. Or another alternative, I would lower my glasses so that the screen would be a blur, hahaha.

So anyway, back to this show, it is a reality show which focuses on a group of investigators who are called in to investigate certain homes, premises or buildings which are claimed to have certain paranormal activities. The investigations involved the usage of various electronic equipments which they believe are capable of detecting any paranormal activities such as the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP) which are used to record any disembodied voices, EMF for recording the electromagnetic fields and temperature readings. Cameras are set up at any of the hot spots. The ghost hunters, known as TAPS, will usually try to debunk any of the unusual experiences claimed by the building owners and witnesses by recreating scenarios and giving any possible explainations on events that may not actually be paranormal.

It is a very cool show in my opinion. It also does not cause me to hide behind pillows and so forth, hehe. Sometimes there are paranormal activities caught on tape such as full body apparitions, black shadows, strange noises, disembodied voices which can be creepy at times. The places they investigated are very interesting such as old hospitals, old hotels, prisons, houses, light houses and so on. Whether the investigations are credible or not, I am not sure, but it is certainly an entertaining program which I now come to enjoy very much! :)

The latest season is currently playing on Star World, on Wednesdays 10pm.

More info here.

On the 14th day of Raya

I haven't seen Jalwaa for quite some time. You could say, it has probably been a year or two since we last saw each other, with her studying in UK and me in Brisbane, so our holidays did not always match hehe. We used to be classmates starting in Form 1 in MS and have been good friends since. I went with Ziqah, also our MS good close friend and Zul to Jalwaa's place tonight. The three of us; me, Ziqah and Jalwaa were a part of a group called the G-club back in MS, along with Yunyun, Sa'dy and Ismah. Having a 'gang' or 'club' was cool back then especially during high school haha. Those were fun times hehe. So tonight, we went to Jalwaa's open house at her family home. It is great to see her after all the years. Jal, you still look the same macam dulu! hehehe

Last night I went to Azim's open house with Tiyah. I didn't bring my camera along so no piccies here hehe.

Oh and also, Auntie Salmah and family came to beraya at home this afternoon. Here are some piccies! :)

A visit from our furry little friends

We haven't seen them for quite sometime since the fasting time so we thought that maybe, just maybe, they have migrated to other areas of the forest. Well, we are proved wrong it seems. Just this afternoon, while I was in the car with my sister, waiting for the engine to heat up, I accidentally saw something moving from the side mirrors of the car. And well, what do we see?

The monkeys are back! Not just the big ones! They come in troops; looks like mama monkeys are bringing the baby monkeys along on their adventure. I guess they did not realise that there are people in the car, watching their every move! Hehe. So I managed to capture a few pics from my phone so they appeared a bit blurry. It was only when I tried to reverse the car that they scurried hurriedly back to the forest! Look for the monkeys in the circle that I drew in the pics below. :)

Sneaky sneaky sneaky! :P
