KL holiday trip: Day 4 Part 2

Day 4: 5th January 2010

As promised, here is part 2 of the Day 4 trip to KL. I actually had typed this post previously but somehow it got lost while I try to publish a few days ago. Hence, this is now my second attempt in posting this part after I have cooled down a bit, hahaha. After our visit to Beryl's, we then made our way to Aquaria KLCC which is not that far from the chocolate making shop. We arrived at Aquaria then proceeded to queue for tickets. The entrance fee per adult is RM38.

The first thing I noticed as we enter were the innocuous looking Piranhas in their large tank. The room was dimly lit to accentuate the surrounding area. There were tanks and tanks of various types of marine life in different shapes and sizes. Some of the tanks were open and I actually had a small fear that some of the medium or big fishes may jump up in the air if I get too near the tanks. The thing is, years and years ago, we used to have an aquarium at home. At one time, we were cleaning the tank and tried to scoop up the fish to move them to a smaller basin to make our cleaning process easier. Then suddenly, one of the fish jumped or leaped up in the air from the water! That freaked me a bit! hahaha. There was also another incident which involved cleaning as well. While cleaning the tank, we realised that one of the fish was missing. We lifted up a pillow which is located near the tank and found the fish wiggling like crazy beneath it! Somehow, during our cleaning process, it has again made a superior jump out of the aquarium onto the carpet, hahaha. I don't know how that is possible hehe.

Anyway, let's continue onto our story here..

We entered various 'chambers' displaying different showcases of marine life. Eventually we reached a tube-like glass chamber with slowly moving conveyor belt thingie for us to get on to, while we watch the surrounding area where marine life slowly swam past us by. Just imagine entering a cave, but instead of being surrounded by wall rock formations, we were surrounded or protected by sturdy glass partitions.

At the gift shop

After the enjoyable and fun times that we had in Aquaria, we went to the nearby food court to have a late lunch.

After lunch, we decided to head to Chinatown on Petaling Street. As the name suggest, Chinatown is mostly operated by the Chinese. We were caught up in the traffic on our way there and finally arrived after more than 30 minutes of the supposedly short trip. The taxi fare was RM15 from Aquaria KLCC to Chinatown. There were a lot of tourists browsing and walking along the stretch of street. We actually found it a bit difficult to bargain, mind you, my mom is quite a bargaining master sengihnampakgigi haha. Some of the stall operators were unfriendly and actually waved us away when we tried to bargain from a low price! How rude! marah I am seldom mad, but that quite pisses me off a bit, huh! What a way to draw in customers! marisini Hmph.. Anywayyy, not all of them were as rude and unfriendly. Some were quite nice and tolerable, and it was from those people that I actually buy things from. My sister and I managed to bargain a Loewe handbag from RM75 to RM55 each. Apparently in Brunei, it also costs around $75 each, so what a bargain! sengihnampakgigi Other stalls were selling that at RM100 and over, so thank goodness we managed to find a stall that sells it cheaper! hehe.

After our trip to Chinatown, we hailed a taxi to get us back to the hotel. Fortunately, it only started to rain heavily while we were on our way back. It was a fun packed Day 4 indeed! love
