Sungkai out

Last night, I went out with Tiyah and Rahmat for sungkai. It has been a few weeks since we last saw each other. We met up at the Ramadhan stalls at the Stadium at 5pm to browse through some of the foods and drinks at the stalls set up. As usual, there was quite a crowd but fortunately we managed to find a parking spot nearby. As we walked along with the flow, we met a former lecturer of ours, Dr Wood with his wife, still as friendly and jolly as before hehe. We bought some kuih muih; Tiyah bought some kiuh Malaya, Rahmat bought some kuih penyaram and lenggang and I bought the new version of cucur pisang but instead of wrapped with flour, it is wrapped with kulit popia.

After jalan-jalan we then headed to Bandar to the Nyonya Restaurant in Yayasan where Tiyah had made a reservation. Since it was still early, we went to the nearby Huo Ho to pass the time. By the time we went to the restaurant, there were a lot of diners waiting for sungkai time hehe. Tiyah and I had the Buttermilk chicken with fried rice while Rahmat had Lamb in Oyster Sauce with rice. As a sign of sungkai, we heard the beduk signal from the nearby Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque. The buttermilk chicken was delicious! Hehe. The atmosphere is cozy and modern. After sungkai, we decided to continue our outing by going to the Mall in Gadong. It being a Saturday night, there was a bit of traffic before we managed to find parking. Seriously, there was a lot of people at the Mall since there was also an expo going on as well. We jalan-jalan then settled down at the food court for chit chat and drinks. We also met some of our x-MS friends at the food court. Overall, it was a fun evening out. :D
