So yesterday I met up with
Tiyah,
Valerie and
Azim at
Capers in Kiulap for sungkai. Rahmat couldn't make it last night. Val made earlier reservations for a table. Tiyah picked me up from my place before sungkai time. By the time we reached the Italian restaurant, many of the sungkai diners are already there. We opted to eat buffet style which costs at $14.80 per person. Thus expecting to see many dishes since it is after all 'an all you can eat buffet', we were disappointed to see the rather 'small' selection of food. In one section, there are just 4 different types of pasta (in small serving dishes) and a small basket of popia and another corner, 2 different types of pizza (atupun sebuting-sebuting) and papadams. We checked if there is any corner of the restaurant where the food is also being served but nada. Drinks which are only in the forms of bandung in jugs, atu pun banyak habis. Apparently the drinks are not being put in one place for us to pour on our own but are actually being poured in the glasses at our tables by the waitresses. Atu pun payah-payahan. Kesian c Tiyah nda kana tuangi minuman and she has to ask 4 times before the waitress menuangkan minuman. Lain jua 'buffet' nya ani, hmmm.
So after getting our first serving of pasta, we went to get pizza, atu pun tinggal 2 slices saja! We waited but nada jua kana refill the pizza, so we returned back to our table to wait. Pasta nya pun habis that time. We waited quite a while with no refill of drinks and no food on the buffet tables. We all agreed that the service is, to put it bluntly, rather
crappy. This is actually my first time eating there, thus leaving quite a bad impression to me. Val went to check the buffet tables again and returned with the same result, no food kana served nya. I was thinking at this point that, the 'buffet' is not worth it! We were rather grumbly by this point. So we sabar tah saja dulu hehe. Eventually Azim has to leave early. We chatted for a bit and were still hungry since makan sikit saja tadi.
Ahirnya, Val called the waitress to ask why the 'buffet' is sedikit and nada be-refill and told her that we only managed to eat a small portion. At least Tiyah and I sampat makan the pasta & a slice of pizza, while Val sampat makan the pizza saja. Rupanya cemaniii... according to the waitress the food at the 'buffet' tables are only served from 6:30-7:30pm only (cali jua buffet nya sejam saja ani), and then
WE CAN ORDER ANYTHING WE WANT FROM THE MENU which is inclusive in the "all you can eat" buffet! Well, not anything plang tu, minuman not inclusive and some pizza nda masuk. Ya Allah, rupanya cemani!! Menahan lapar jua kami tu awal atu. Mun kami tau awal format 'all you can eat buffet' nya ani cemani, awal tah kami mengorder sudah, astaga!!! Hahaha.. Kan ketawa ada jua, nda puas hati ada jua, astahhhhhhhh... Tapi walaupun buffet nya sejam saja, tapi makanannya habis nda pun sampai sejam, ish ish ish. Kesian c Azim nda dpt enjoy the food from the menu by that time.
Val was apologetic since ia suggest the place and ia pun nda tau rupanya cemani formatnya, but it's ok Val! Not your fault, we also didn't know it was supposed to be that way, hehehe. So then we ordered 2 types of pasta and pizza from the menu. We stayed until 8+ pm before heading back home. Before that, we checked on the blackboard near the restaurant entrance where info about the buffet is written, but there is nothing there indicating that buffet atu inclusive jua of makanan from the menu. Skali ani tau tah kami! Hehe. Waitress nya ani pun nda jua bunyi2 arah kami masa awal atu pasal kami langsung nada mengorder apa2 dari menu. Nda lagi brapa melayan tu, maybe pasal ramai org atu jua, hmmm. Patut tah service nya nda brapa bagus ish ish ish. I will not be too keen to return there soon! Though some of the pasta nyaman, hehe. So there you go, our 'interesting' experience last night sungkai sana.
