Early morning jog

As you may know, I am not really a morning person. It has been a while since I last jogged. So when my dad told us that he is going on a morning jog today, my sister and I decided to join him. The last time I ever jogged was sometime 2 or 3 months ago, I think haha. I feel so guilty about it, so I have compensated by playing frisbee or badminton once in a while if the mood is here and if the weather cooperates hehe.

The night before, I have set up my alarm for 5:20am, knowing that I would usually snooze the alarm a couple of times before actually waking up haha. So this morning, I woke up at the crack of dawn. It was still dark outside. And I was thinking to myself, jadi kah nda ni ah.. since my eyelids were still droopy from lack of sleep. But I am determine to make this work, so I tried to give my eyes quite a work out by marak marakkan my eyes a couple of times in front of the mirror... hmm, and why am I telling you this? hahaha.. the thing is, I usually prefer exercising in the afternoon instead of pagi-pagi buta since I like sleeping in. But tau tah di Brunei, if you want to go jogging, you have to drive to the place like Shahbandar or Damuan, before you could actually exercise, which kinda defeats the purpose a bit for me. Kan drive ke sana pun sudah berpikir dua tiga kali. But since ani my dad yang drive, so I don't mind tagging along hehe.. He usually jogs early in the mornings. Since my sister was up to the idea as well, bagi semangat lah jua, I join in as well tarus.

So after showering and a cup of hot tea, we were on our way. My dad brought us to Padang Belapan. The air was cool and crispy. There were already quite a few joggers about; middle aged to kids alike. I am quite happy to note that it seems that Bruneians are becoming more health conscious nowadays by exercising more. We stayed for an hour until the sun was up. I have to admit that I did a lot more walking than jogging haha. Asal exercise jaditah hehe. I think I managed to go 10 or so laps around the track. Yay me! :D

True to the Bruneian style, after the exercise, my dad brought us to minum-minum at a nearby restaurant at Teguh Raya and we tapau murtabak for brekkie. :p

At 6:08am, before sun rise

Personality..... what personality?

So just for fun, I did some personality quizzes based on some of my favourite shows of all time, hehe.

Well, there you go. I don't know how far correct the quizzes are in reflecting my personality. It's just for fun anyway, hehehe.. I let you do the judging. :D

Vanilla cupcakes

I was bored this afternoon, hence came the inspiration to try make vanilla cup cakes. And the result was yummy! :D I think I prefer vanilla cupcakes than the chocolate ones, hehe. From the recipe I managed to make 16 cupcakes.

The batch before going into the oven

Cupcakes fresh out of the oven after baking for 15 minutes! :)

After cooled, the cupcakes were spread with thick butter cream icing and sprinkled with rainbow chips :D

And ta-daa!! Mouth watering vanilla cupcake with thick cream. Nyum! :D

Hehehe, well, that's an afternoon well spent.. :)

Ismah & Khalid's Wedding

Today is the wedding day of Ismah and Khalid. I have known Ismah since attending Form 1 at Maktab Sains in 1998. It was only there that I actually knew that she is my second cousin, hehe.. and from there on, she becomes a close friend. Khalid also used to attend MS with us. My dear old MS friend, Qilah, and I decided to attend the wedding together, so Qilah picked me up at my house and we made our journey to Ismah's family residence in Kg Sungai Besar. It was definitely like a reunion as we met some of our former MS batch mates attending the wedding. It was great meeting everyone as we have not really been in touch with each other for quite some time. Some of us went up to see Ismah before the start of the wedding and thus as usual, it is photo taking sessions for everyone, hehehe.

A Secret Message

I have a secret message for you folks. Scratch the top card to find out :)

Sitting in the dark

I am a supporter of Earth Hour.

To show my support that night, I let myself sit in the darkness for more than an hour... literally.. hehehe.. doing my bit in helping the cause to save energy around the world in that moment of darkness..

Hmmm.. well, that is not the whole truth, actually.

The thing is, I did sit in the dark...

but I was actually in the cinema, watching a movie.

It still counts, doesn't it? (^_^)

Baked cheese cake with mango ice cream

I have been craving for cheesecake since yesterday, so I decided to spend my afternoon baking one! This is my second attempt of baking cheesecake, using the recipe that Cass gave to me. It was another success, I think hehe. The recipe is quite easy actually and you only need a few ingredients.

Mixing sugar, eggs and philadelphia cheese

Crushed biscuits and melted butter, chilled an hour earlier in the fridge

Before going into the oven

Baked after 30 minutes! :)

And viola! Cheese cake with mango ice cream! :) I did not have mangoes to try make a mango cheese cake, so I compromised by enjoying the cheese cake with mango ice cream instead :D

I am definitely gaining weight in Brunei, haha :D
