Robots... and more robots

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Source: www.wallpaperez.net

Last night, I went out with Tiyah, Rahmat and Nazmi. We went to the Mall to catch the new Transformers movie: Revenge of the Fallen. My expectation of the movie is high since the first one was very good. There were a lot of movie goers last night. Not to forget some of the Transformers enthusiasts, who came to the movie wearing the tranformers gears or shall I say, helmets, to the cheers of the crowd hehe. And some even have their pictures taken with the helmet wearers heheh.

The movie was quite long, about 2 1/2 hours. I have to say that, the movie certainly did not disappoint. It was indeed, awesome.... a must watch! More shiny robots, action-packed, good pacing and funny with a good story line. I don't mind getting the DVD to rewatch nanti hehe. I'd rate the movie, 9.5/10! :)

So after the movie, we decided to have a bite at Mc Donalds. Whenever I go to McD, I usually order the double cheeseburger but this time, I had the TRIPLE cheese burger, yes, TRIPLE... (calories be damn!) haha, which was on the menu until the end of this month only. I was in cheesy heaven indeed, heh :P

Nazmi and Tiyah :)

Me and Rahmat :) Rahmat promosi burger heheh

After dinner, we went to Komunis then headed back home. :)

The Baking Itch Strikes Again! - Egg Tarts

I have always like egg tarts. Always bought them but never have made them. So this afternoon, I decided to try make them using a recipe from mom. I think it was a success hehe, although the last 4-5 tarts are a little bit browner or should I say, hangus-er, :p , than the first batch haha. Will definitely make these again. :)

Movie, Korean dinner, Karaoke & Ice cream

Blood: the Last Vampire
Source: impawards.com

Yesterday afternoon, Nabnab, Rahmat, Sa'dy, Yunyun and myself went to catch a movie at the Kiulap Mall cineplex. We watched the 4:50pm showing of Blood: the Last Vampire. The movie was adapted from an anime and it was alright. Although the CGI effects can easily be seen as too computerised but the martial arts involving the swords by the lead female character was pretty impressive I have to say. Somehow there were parts in the movie that really made us laugh, though it wasn't really due to any funny bits heheh. Lots of violence and lots of CGI blood, hence the title ey? Heh. :P At first, the story line was a bit confusing, but as the story progresses, we get bits and pieces of the main character's past, thus explaining the progress much better. The fast pacing and actions did keep us on our toes. But like I said, it was alright. I'd rate the movie 6.5/10.

After the movie, we decided to have dinner at a Korean restaurant (my first time here) at Ko-Ryo Restaurant, also in Kiulap. Tiyah came to join us for dinner. We had to leave our shoes and duduk bersila on a low table. We ordered a variety of dishes such as Yang Nyum Tong Dak (Seasoning chicken atau ayam masak merah), O Jing Au Dub Bap (Stir Fried Squid), Seafood pancake and so on. Dinner was enjoyable and the food was very good. I have to say that my chop sticks handling is improving a bit haha. I would definitely come back again.

The menu

Yunyun, Sa'dy and Nabnab :)

Me and Tiyah :)

Some side dishes to enjoy with plain rice, such as kimchi, clams, fried eggs, anchovies (pusu), some kind of pickle (jeruk), veggies and sweet potato fritters (cucur ubi manis). Nyaman2 jua lah.

I think this is So-Bul Go Gi (Barbequed Beef) yang orang korea selalu makan dengan lettuce atu, hehe

Yunyun mixing some kind of rice which ndaku tau namanya hehe. Ani katanya macam nasi yang kana campur arah series Full House atu.

Lapas dicampur, jadi cemani hehe. It is quite delicious

Meliat Yunyun mixing hehe

Muka orang kanyang haha :P

After dinner :P

The night was still young... so after dinner, we decided to head to the Gadong Mall and bahapa nah, jeng jeng jeng... ber karaoke! :P Kan membawa durang Yunyun, Sa'dy and Nabnab, heheh. We sang about 8 songs in total sampai sarut suara haha. Nada k-box yang bigger, so we had to berasak dalam satu k-box haha. Siuk lah hehe

In the K-box hehe

After our karaoke session, we then headed to Snow House for some snow ice. After spending a fun filled day together, we then decided to call it a night. Berabis kami bejalan hehe, since it is probably the last time kami jumpa before they head back to brisbane :( Well, overall, it was a day well spent indeed :D

And here is a short video of our rendition of Spice Girl's Wannabe! haha:

Happy Birthday Cass!

19/6/2009: Happy Birthday to Cass, one of my coursemates back in Brissie and a good friend! I hope that you have a great birthday this year. :)

Family road trip

When was the last time we had a road trip to Miri? I believe it was sometime in 2005 or 2006 kalitu, so we can definitely see a lot of changes on the way sampai ada kami sasat kajap masa time balik hahaha. Atu karang ku ceritakan tu... Muni ada plang ke miri after that for her school trip dulu.

On Tuesday, my family had a road trip to Miri since it is now the school holidays. We started from home at 8:30am and the journey was rather uneventful. We arrived in Kuala Belait a little over an hour. Come to think of it, when was the last time I went to KB? Hmm, we don't really have any relatives in KB so the only time I ever was physically in KB would be masa kalau kan ke Miri, hehehe. So we arrived at Rasau in KB and had to pay the toll which is $3. We were then on our way to the immigration which was thankfully quite deserted. Nda banyak kerita so it didn't take long. In addition to the usual imigration stuff, we also had to fill in a health form to check if kami selesma kah apa (swine flu precaution jua). At the Malaysian side of the immigration, we met my second cousin, c Nisa and her family also on their holiday ke Miri.

Miri, here we come! :P

At the Malaysian side, we also had to pay the toll before going on the ASEAN bridge. Then we were on our way to Miri city! :) It took us approximatly 2 and a half hours to reach Miri from home.

Mega Hotel, where we usually stayed

While waiting for dad to check in, we took some photos at the hotel lobby:

Hari Gawai display, I think.... hehehe

After check in, we rest dulu before jalan.

View of Miri from our room

While resting, Mun and I went to the bakery downstairs to check out the cakes.

Chatterbox cheese cake and Blueberry Fresh Cream Cake, nyaman! :D

Lapas atu we went out and jalan to the nearest superstore to the hotel. And aku ada cerita. We parked arah Sin Liang supermarket kan, and we went in pun nda batah. When we kluar balik ke kerita, ada this kratas putih kana simpan arah the wind swipe (luruskah tu?), pokoknya arah cermin krita lah tu. We checked the other cars nada jua kana bagi. Bila kami checked, panya bapa kana fine! Ehhh?! We checked, lurus jua parking kami atu, dapan2 kadai, dalam line, and andang tampat parking since siring2 nya atu ada that white paint menunjukkan atu andang parking krita. Hmmm, heran kami kan. In the paper, nda kana gtau untuk apa fine atu. Skali my dad tanya tah arah orang bejual kadai hampir sana atu, suruhnya tanya tia arah pondok parking not far from there.

Rupanya apa nah, kan parking misti bali coupon parkingg... ahh rupanya.. Since we lama udah nda ke Miri, rupanya ada udah rules baru pasal parking sana atu. When my dad bagitau nda kami tau, nda jua ingau orang ah, so misti tah bapa membayar the fine. Baik jua nda mahal, kana RM$10 fine saja. Ish ish ish...

Lapas atu balik tah kami ke hotel then jalan2 lah lagii..

Waiting for the elevator

Bintang Plaza

Esuknya hujan labat pagi so we decided to have breakfast di restaurant di bawah saja. The buffet was nyaman2 hehe.

Lapas atu taduh tah jua hujan, and bejalan tah kami arah lain.

Plaza-plaza

On the way balik atu, we got lost a few times haha. Awal atu, we ended up arah kawasan kampung di Kuala Baram, then we had to patah balik and ended up arah tampat lama menunggu ferry dulu atu hahaha, patah balik lagi and finally tetulus tah jua ahirnya, baik jua. Immigration also didn't take long. Once we sampai KB, we saw ada hutan hangus and fire fighters working. Sampai rumah close to 6pm. Overall, it was a fun trip. :)
